One of only a handful of major art fairs so far confirmed as going ahead in the first quarter of 2021, Art Dubai is looking to set a post-pandemic standard for others to follow. Chloe Vaitsou, the fair’s international director, talks to Canvas about the preparations so far.

Why have you decided to go ahead with a physical fair for Art Dubai 2021?

CV: There’s a common sense of inspiration across the UAE, with displays, exhibition halls and other non-profit teach reviving and audiences eager to re-engage. For another year’s reasonable we have creative, unused programming custom fitted and reconfigured to the current times, including citywide occasions and community-building experiences over the UAE, all with extensive health and security measures in place. Also, early on within the widespreadpandemicwidespread, we set up an innovative installment show for participating galleries, as a result of which we are seeing the return of 90 per cent of our exhibitors.

How has the pandemic affected the artviewing experience generally?

Craftsmanship fairs, exhibitions and historical centers have worked hard to actualize unused models of engagement and to incorporate more computerized occasions, which of course has been a learning bend for numerous. Our newly propelled CraftsmanshipArtCraftsmanship Dubai Representations Exhibition series looks for to challenge the online virtual room model of appearing perpetual pictures of artworks for deal, which appears to have immersed the art showcase in later months. Our objective is to give our gathering of people interesting get to to selected artists by appearing a video of them in their studio, giving an outline of their practice, giving the foundation behind the exhibition and at that point appearing the bodies of works that are available to buy. Whereas this arrangement has been fruitful in its possess way, the comparisonso.
