Fundação Bienal de São Paulo has unveiled the theme, initial artist list and curatorial council of the upcoming 35th Bienal de São Paulo.
Entitled choreographies of the impossible, this edition brings together artistic practices from around the world that challenge the notion that freedom, justice and equality are impossible achievements while proposing alternatives to our current political, legal, economic and social reality.
The foundation has also announced a selection of practitioners who will take part in the 35th Bienal de São Paulo, consisting of 37 artists, four duos and two collectives. Names from the Middle East and Arab world include Anna Boghiguian, Nadir Bouhmouch and Soumeya Ait Ahmed, Bouchra Ouizguen, Philip Rizk and Mounira Al Solh. See the list below:

The complete list will include over 100 participants and will be released in the first half of 2023.
The curatorial collective of the edition consists of Diane Lima, Grada Kilomba, Hélio Menezes and Manuel Borja-Villel. A curatorial council has been appointed to complement the research of the curatorial collective and encompasses Omar Berrada, Sandra Benites, Sol Henaro and Thomas Jean Lax.
The 35th Bienal de São Paulo will take place from 6 September to 10 December.
