The PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, Ukraine has announced the shortlisted artists for the 7th edition of the Future Generation Art Prize.
The list includes 21 artists and artist collectives from across the world, including Tara Abdullah Mohammed Sharif, Salim Bayri, Yasmine El Meleegy and Dina Mimi from the Middle East and Arab world. See the full list below:

The main prize winner will receive $100,000, divided between a $60,000 cash prize and a $40,000 investment in their practice. At the discretion of the jury, up to five more artists will be awarded a collective special prize of $20,000, to support the development of their artistic practice.
The artists were chosen by an international selection committee encompassing Mariam Elnozahy, curator, researcher, writer and artistic director of Konsthall C; Marta Papini, associate curator of the 9th Biennale Gherdëina; Billy Fowo, writer amd curator at SAVVY Contemporary; Raphael Chikukwa, executive director and chief curator of the National Gallery of Zimbabwe; Evelyne Jouanno, independent curator, art historian and professor at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti; Thiago de Paula Souza, co-curator of the 38th Panorama of Brazilian Art; and Inga Lāce, chief сurator of the Almaty Museum of Arts.
The selection committee was appointed by the Future Generation Art Prize’s international jury, which includes Cecilia Alemani, curator of the 59th International Art Exhibition at La Biennale di Venezia; Björn Geldhof, artistic director of the PinchukArtCentre; Diane Lima, independent curator and writer; Bonaventure Soh Bejeng Ndikung, director and chief curator of Haus der Kulturen der Welt; Alicia Knock, curator and head of the contemporary creation and prospective department at the Centre Pompidou; Simon Njami, independent curator, lecturer, art critic and novelist; Hou Hanru, art critic, curator and former artistic director of MAXXI, National Museum of 21st Century Arts.
An exhibition consisting of works commissioned to the shortlisted artists will take place from August 2024 to January 2025 at the PinchukArtCentre. The winners will be determined during the exhibition run time, while prizes will be awarded at a ceremony in October 2024.
