The inaugural edition of Art Week Riyadh will launch in April 2025. The Saudi Ministry of Culture’s Visual Arts Commission announced the first edition of Art Week Riyadh will take place from 6 to 13 April in the JAX district and across the city. This new initiative will take place under the theme of At The Edge and will bring together local and international galleries and numerous institutions. The theme will delve into the idea of thresholds, transitions, and liminal spaces, reflecting Riyadh’s role as a centre of global cultural engagement.
Art Week Riyadh is designed to highlight the extensive and diverse art scene in Saudi Arabia as well as promote exchange within the visual arts community, providing a robust base from which the arts will continue to thrive.
The initiative will be non-commercial and focus on showcasing the current art scene while honouring the past and looking to the future. Art Week Riyadh will see a selection of exhibitions by emerging and well-established artists by both Saudi and international galleries. Also included will be rare and carefully curated collector’s exhibitions from private collections and a diverse programme of public events including talks, performances, and workshops.
