The Museum of Islamic Art will present A Seat at the Table: Food & Feasting in the Islamic World, an exploration of the role food plays across the Islamic world and within Muslim traditions.
Organised in five sections, the exhibition includes more than 100 objects from the collection of the Museum of Islamic Art, plus loans from several Qatar Museums institutions as well as the Qatar National Library. Each section will include a video of a contemporary chef preparing a dish that reflects his or her culinary traditions.
This exhibition is organised by the Museum of Islamic Art, in collaboration with the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The exhibition is curated by Dr Tara Desjardins, Senior Curator of Decorative Arts & Design, Lusail Museum and Teslim Sanni, Curatorial Affairs Researcher, Museum of Islamic Art.
