The Paiz Foundation for Education and Culture shared the preliminary list of participants in the 24th edition of the Paiz Art Biennial in Guatemala City. The upcoming edition will feature Guatemalan and international artists across generations whose works address the paradoxes of contemporary life with an emphasis on interconnectedness in the face of tensions that reverberate across a community.
Curated by Eugenio Viola the next edition will take place from 6 November 2025 until 15 February 2026. Under the title of The World Tree, the Biennial takes inspiration from the Tree of Life and symbolises art’s power to bridge cultures and celebrate diversity, foster empathy and encourage unity amid global tensions. The next edition will focus on centring voices from the Global South and reclaiming ancestral knowledge while challenging dominant histories.
