Art Basel has announced the Gold Awardees during Art Basel Miami Beach.
For the 2025 edition, winners were chosen from 36 medallists across nine categories: Artists – Icon, Emerging and Established; Cross Disciplinary Creators; Patrons; Institutions; Curators; Allies and Media and Storytellers.
Those honoured this year via a peer-reviewed process include Cecilia Vicuña from Icon Artists, Nairy Baghramian and Ibrahim Mahama under Established Artists and from the Emerging Artist category, the awardees were Mohammad Alfaraj and Saodat Ismailova. Formafantasma from the Cross-Disciplinary Creators, RAW Material Company from Museum and Institutions, Joel Wachs under the Patrons category, Candice Hopkins for the Curator category, Gasworks / Triangle Network from the Allies category and Negar Azimi from Media & Storyteller. The debut BOSS Award for Outstanding Achievement went to Meriem Bennani.
The Art Basel Awards celebrate art practitioners who push the boundaries and drive contemporary art forward, recognising practice, contributions and impact. The Gold Awardees will receive support through honorariums, access to an extensive network, partnerships and high-profile commissions.
