Alserkal Avenue has unveiled a new initiative entitled Blank Space, designed to nurture emerging creative collectives across the UAE. The initiative is tailored for practitioners working across disciplines, including arts, music, design and craft who are seeking space and support to bring collaborative ideas to life.
Through initiative up to three collectives will receive access to a warehouse space for a period of four week, the selected participants will be able to use the venue as a base for production, rehearsal or exhibition, while also benefiting from covered utilities and potential material support. The intentions are to remove common barriers that often limit creative grown, particularly the cost of maintaining a dedicated workspace.
Blank Space also encourages participants to think about how their work connects with others. Each project is expected to include a public-facing component, allowing audiences to engage with the process or final outcome. This could take the form of a showcase, interactive session or live event that brings the wider community into the conversation.
To submit your application for Blank Space, email leasing@alserkal.online before 12 PM on 10 April. For more information regarding the initiative and application process visit alserkal.online.
