Abu Dhabi Art has announced increased international participation for 2025, and revealed the full list of galleries taking part in the Abu Dhabi Art Fair, set to take place from 19 to 23 November in Manarat Al Saadiyat.
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, and organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), Abu Dhabi Art Fair will host 140 galleries from 37 countries worldwide, including 52 cities.
The largest art fair in the MENA region, Abu Dhabi Art Fair will feature several highlight sections this year as part of its Global Focus Sectors, aimed at promoting a plurality of voices in the art world.
This Focus sector will include the Nigeria Spotlight, a collaboration with the Ministry of Art, Culture, Tourism and the Creative Economy, with seven key galleries in the country set to display artwork which highlights the country’s dynamic contemporary art scene. Aimed at furthering Nigeria’s exposure on the global art scene, this sector is a part of Nigeria Everywhere, a cultural initiative to highlight the cultural scene in the country and showcase its diversity. Participating galleries include SOTO Gallery, AMG Projects, returning exhibitor kó, O’DA Gallery, 1897 Gallery, Windsor Gallery, Ishara Gallery, and a special project with MADhouse by Tikera Africa.
A second Focus sector entitled Modern Türkiye, curated by Doris Benhalegua Karako will spotlight work by Turkish modern masters, with work by Fahrelnissa Zeid being shown by DG Art Gallery and Projects, the oeuvre of Burhan Doğançay put on display by Art On Istanbul Gallery, and Gülsün Karamustafa and Cengiz Çekil being featured by BüroSarigedik.
The final Focus sector will put the Gulf region and its leading Khaleeji artists front and centre. Galleries included in this sector are Gallery Isabelle with artwork by Hassan Sharif, Mohammed Kazem and Alia Zaal; Wusum Gallery with a spotlight on artist Tarek Darwish; Hunna Art with a showcase of Alymamah Rashed, Joud Fahmy and Zayn Qahtani’s work; SAPAR Contemporary with Rashif Al-Khalifa; Iris Projects with a focus on Nasser Al Salem, Juma Al Haj and Shamsa Al Omaira’s work; Hafez Gallery displaying pieces by Sami Al Marzoogi, Sara Alabdali and Raeda Ashour’s; and Albareh Art Gallery exhibiting Nasser Al Yousif.
The Focus Gulf region sector will be on show at the newly launched Aldar Hall at Manarat Al Saadiyat, along with participating galleries from the WANA region (West Asia and North Africa), which includes first time fair participants Loft Art Gallery and Comptoir des Mines from Morocco, Yosr Ben Ammar Gallery from Tunisia, OH GALLERY from Senegal and Galerie Farah Fakhri from Ivory Coast as well as a number of other galleries.
Other exhibitors with debut participations in Abu Dhabi Art Fair include RGR, Pedro Cera and EQTNA Rare Books. The Collector’s Salon, a Focus section, also returns with curation by Roxanne Zand, joining the other Global Focus sectors and returning fair sections including Modern & Contemporary, Special Projects, Emerge and Bidaya.
H.E. Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, stated: “The upcoming edition of Abu Dhabi Art Fair promises to be the most ambitious yet, featuring a record number of galleries from around the world. Over the years, the fair has evolved into the region’s most influential platform for art and ideas, a cultural moment where the UAE’s pioneering spirit engages with the global art community. Each edition advances our mission to foster Abu Dhabi’s vibrant creative ecosystem, connecting artists, collectors, and audiences in a dialogue that transcends borders, encourages meaningful exchange, and sparks new possibilities.”
