Art Dubai has announced details of its upcoming 17th edition. The fair is set to take place from 1 to 3 March 2024, with preview days on 28 and 29 February.
Emiliano Valdés, chief curator of the Museum of Modern Art in Medellin, Columbia, has been announced as the curator of the Bawwaba section, which consists of solo exhibitions by artists from the Global South presenting artworks made within a year prior to Art Dubai or specially commissioned for the fair. Art Dubai Modern will be curated by Dr Christianna Bonin, assistant professor of art history at the American University of Sharjah and will examine the East-East and South-South links formed by the region’s artists, musicians, architects and filmmakers in the mid-20th century.
Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti, co-directors of IAM-Infinity Art Museum, will curate Art Dubai Digital’s third edition, which will explore new developments in digital arts, AI, AR, VR and NFTs.
