Art Dubai Group has just announced the appointment of two new senior leadership figures. Alexie Glass-Kantor will join Art Dubai Group as Executive Director, Curatorial, and Dunja Gottweis will become the Director of Art Dubai Fair. Both positions are based in Dubai and they will join Benedetta Ghione and Pablo del Val in expanding the activations of Art Dubai Group.
Taking up her role in April 2025, Glass-Kantor will join in a recently created position centred around guiding the strategy of partnerships and institution development and will collaborate closely with the local government and existing Art Dubai teams. A key focus of Glass-Kantor’s appointment will be on expanding international collaborations, to further promote the Gulf’s art scene both at home and abroad. Glass-Kantor was previously Executive Director of Artspace Sydney and has curated the Australian Pavilion at the 59th Venice Biennale (2022), Encounters at Art Basel Hong Kong (2015–2025), and Parallel Collisions: 12th Adelaide Biennial of Contemporary Art for the Art Gallery of South Australia (2012).
Gottweis will join as Director of Art Dubai Fair. With extensive experience across several continents, Gottweis began her career at MAK the Austrian Museum of Applied Arts. She subsequently joined Art Basel, eventually becoming Global Head of Gallery Relations as well as joining the Management Board of Art Basel in 2022. A key player in the debut of Art Basel Hong Kong and Art Basel Paris, Gottweis has overseen the art fair in all its locations, with her experience working on international projects providing extensive know-how for future editions of Art Dubai. Dunja will take over the running of Art Dubai from its 2026 edition.
