ART021 Hong Kong Contemporary Art Fair has announced its curatorial project and galleries for 2024. The fair, which will take place from 28 August to 8 September, will feature 73 galleries and projects from 13 different countries and regions. This edition will take place across the city, and be divided into five main sections: Galleries, Videos, Expansion, Sculpture and the GBA Art Week, which encompasses the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
For the inaugural Hong Kong edition, the curatorial approach will highlight art from West Asia and South Asia to foster cultural diversity and inclusivity and provide a platform for connection and engagement. The fair will present a non-commercial exhibition entitled One Thousand and One Nights, a curatorial project that include artists such as Tala Madani, Shilpa Gupta, Mandy El Sayegh, Alia Ahmad and more. The exhibition will be supported by galleries including Lawrie Shabibi, Vadehra Art Gallery, The Third Line and others.
Art from the Middle East and Iran will also be shown in the Gallery section of ART021 Hong Kong. Among the notable galleries presented at the fair are Dastan Gallery, which will exhibit the work of a group of Iranian artist who delves into the current cultural offerings of Asian histories, as well as Gallery All with a solo presentation of Amir H Fallah.
