The Bangkok Art Biennale has announced the list of artists and collectives taking part in the upcoming edition, due to take place from 24 October 2024 to 25 February 2025.
With a curatorial team led by Prof. Dr. Apinan Poshyananda accompanied by Pojai Akratanakul, Dr. Brian Curtin, Akiko Miki and Dr. Paramaporn Sirikulchayanont, the Bangkok Biennale celebrates Mother Earth with this year’s theme, entitled Nurture Gaia, which explores multiple representations of a nurturer and a giver of life throughout various cultures, as well as contemporary issues such as the climate crisis and politics.
This edition will bring together 45 artists and collectives across nine venues, including Adel Abdessemed and Pejvak Collective from the MENA region.
The Biennale locations include historic sites such as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Temple of Dawn, the Museum Siam, various art galleries and the new sustainable development, One Bangkok.
