Death of the Cypress

In Iranian literature and mythology, a lot of interesting stories have been recounted with regard to the cypress tree, and the way each artist deals with this subject is different and unique.

The Cypress is eternal and immortal; though heavy blows might destroy it, it always finds a new way to manifest itself and thus continues to live. The cypresses of this exhibition may look vulnerable at first glance, but if destroyed, they will surely find life again. Hope is defined through the Cypress.

Most of these works have been created for this exhibition, and except for a few artists who possess a different working style and atmosphere, a special focus on the cypress tree can be seen in the other works.
