Details

In collaboration with Sharjah Art Museum, the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts presents Roots and Modernity: Contemporary Mediterranean Arab Art Exhibition, featuring carefully selected artworks from the gallery’s permanent collection. This exhibition highlights artworks from 62 Arab artists in the southern and eastern Mediterranean, including North Africa, Egypt, and the Levant, displaying 86 masterpieces of drawing and painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking. These regions, bridging Europe, Africa, and Asia, are recognised for their profound history and cultural, religious, and linguistic diversity.

The Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, established by the Royal Society of Fine Arts in 1980 by HRH Princess Wijdan Al Hashemi, boasts an extensive collection of over 3,000 works from various countries around the world. The gallery is dedicated to showcasing artists and their masterpieces from these regions, providing an international platform for artists who have not received adequate representation for their artworks.
