Unbodied

Foundry

Details

Lebanese multidisciplinary artist Rosemary Chamoun is set to unveil her latest solo exhibition, Unbodied, at Foundry, Dubai, from 10 April. Marking her first collaboration with the gallery, the exhibition will explore the unseen forces that shape human experience through a striking collection of oil-on-canvas paintings and innovative fiberglass sculptures.

Unbodied presents a compelling selection of artworks that delve into themes of materiality, presence and transformation. Ethereal figures drift through atmospheric realms, their contemplative expressions suspended between longing and awakening. Chamoun’s palette of deep blues and vivid reds pulses with emotional intensity, while her sculptural works, magnetically suspended above their bases, create a sense of levitation and weightlessness, challenging perceptions of physicality and presence. Commenting on the exhibition, Chamoun said: “With Unbodied, I explore the fluid boundaries between the self and the universe. My work seeks to capture the tension between material and immaterial states, creating a space where emotion and spirituality intertwine.”

She further explained: “Each piece in the exhibition reflects a process of surrender – of letting go of fixed forms and embracing the unknown. The interplay of color, texture, and space is meant to evoke both movement and stillness, presence and absence. Chamoun added: “I am delighted to be debuting this exhibition in Dubai, a place that is celebrated for its embrace of the arts and art enthusiasts. I am excited to see and hear the reactions of visitors and critics, and I look forward to collaborating with members of the creative community here in the future.”

Chamoun’s artistic journey has been met with growing critical acclaim. Her recent solo exhibition, The Secret, at Galerie Janine Rubeiz in Beirut, captivated critics and collectors alike.

Through Unbodied, Chamoun continues to push artistic boundaries, blending traditional oil painting techniques with digital and sculptural practices. Her work invites audiences to detach from fixed perceptions and engage in deeper introspection.
