XXH – TEMPS 2

Fondation Francès

Details

This exhibition places the individual at the heart of society and history, exploring collective movements and excesses, confrontations, violence, conflicts and wars, as well as the oppressions and resistances opposing them. After a first chapter exploring the individual, scrutinizing the complexity of human nature, Temps 2 offers an in-depth analysis of collective excess from an intimate perspective.

The artworks question the mechanisms of violence that structure our societies, while examining individuals’ role in constructing these collective excesses.

This dialogue between the private and the political sparks a reflection on the impulses that drives us both individually and collectively. It highlights how these dynamics impact the public sphere, shaping society, its history and its collective memory.

The exhibition encourages awareness and personal commitment to addressing injustice, positioning art as a means of resilience and social transformation.

XXH-Temps 2 creates a space where art becomes a mirror of human conflicts and hopes, transcending the simple art exhibition to become a platform for reflection and action. Viewers are invited to contemplate their roles in the contemporary world and their responsibilities amid collective crises.
