Manifesta 16 has revealed the details of its upcoming edition, including the list of participating artists.
A total of 106 artists will take part in Manifesta 16, with 64 presenting newly commissioned work. The artists hail from 30 countries across the globe and were selected by artistic teams comprised of eight creative mediators.
The upcoming edition of Manifesta will take place in the Ruhr region of Germany from 21 June to 4 October. The event will be hosted in 12 venues across the cities of Bochum, Essen, Duisburg and Gelsenkirchen. Manifesta 16 will focus on repurposing former church buildings for the event, breathing new life into the disused spaces through a celebration of culture and community encounters.
