Frieze Abu Dhabi has revealed further details of its inaugural edition, set to take place from 19 to 22 November.
The fair, led by Director Dyala Nusseibeh and in partnership with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi will unfold in Manarat Al Saadiyat in the Saadiyat Cultural District. It will bring together 84 galleries from the region and abroad, with 63 cities and 36 countries represented.
Participating in the Galleries section are Carbon 12, Lawrie Shabibi, The Third Line, Tabari Artspace, Iris Projects, Gallery Isabelle, Athr, Experimenter, Gypsum, Saleh Barakat Gallery, Mark Hachem, Galerie Tanit, Hafez Gallery, Dastan, BüroSarıgedik, Galerist, A.Gorgi Gallery, Elmarsa Gallery, Selma Feriani, Le Violon Bleu Gallery, Gypsum, ArtTalks | Kanafani Gallery, Wadi Finan Art Gallery, Loft Art Gallery, Ab-Anbar, Pi Artworks, Sfeir-Semler Gallery, Leila Heller Gallery, and many more from around the world.

Complementing Frieze’s expansive reach, the fair amplifies voices from the region in an international context, establishing a key moment of convening and exchange for galleries, artists, institutions and collectors from across the world.”
New voices in Frieze Focus will include Jawad Al Malhi with Iyad Qanazea Gallery and Dala Nasser with Commonwealth and Council, among others. The new Global Futures curated solo presentations by Tarini Malik will bring together artists such as Abdullah Al Saadi with Aisha Alabbar Gallery, Ala Younis with Taymour Grahne Projects, Mohammed Joha with Zawyeh Gallery, Seta Manoukian with Marfa’, and more, to reimagine the cultural histories of the UAE and beyond.
The first edition of Frieze in the Gulf region will also see the inaugural Frieze Abu Dhabi Artist Award take place and feature Frieze Masters Abu Dhabi curated by Marika Sardar, conceived around the theme of the Indian Ocean. Frieze Sculpture will see its Abu Dhabi debut, while the new In Dialogue exhibition will bring together works by both an established and an emerging UAE artist. A curated installation of Omar Al Gurg’s work will be presented by Deutsche Bank and a programme of talks will be held over the course of Frieze Abu Dhabi.
