The recipient of the Han Nefkens Foundation – Museu Tàpies Video Art Production Grant 2024 has been announced as Panos Aprahamian, a filmmaker, writer and media artist from Beirut. The grant will support Aprahamian in producing new video art over the course of nine months.
The Han Nefkens Foundation – Museu Tàpies Video Art Production Grant 2024 seeks to support emerging contemporary artists under 50 from Central and West Asia in the development of their video art practices, with the goal of increasing production of this art form in the region, as well as giving a platform to and expanding the networks of artists working in this medium.
The grant is in collaboration with NTU Centre for Contemporary Art, Singapore, WIELS Brussels, the Museum of Contemporary Art and Design Manila (MCAD), the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea Donnaregina in Naples (MADRE) and the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai. Panos Aprahamian, who was selected from a shortlist of seven artists, will have the opportunity to present his work at each one of the collaborating institutions from 2026.
