The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) in Doha will reopen on 5 October following improvements to the facilities to provide a more educational and accessible experience for visitors. The museum will open in time for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and will feature MIA’s permanent collection, including over 1,000 newly conserved or acquired objects that have been installed and reimagined to provide better visitor engagement and to contextualise works. The galleries will focus on historical and cultural issues, various time periods and geographies, and will highlight Islamic craftsmanship and international connections through trade and a new temporary exhibition, Baghdad: Eye’s Delight, will run from 26 October to 25 February 2023.
