Riyadh Art has revealed details for the fifth edition of Noor Riyadh, the world’s largest light art festival. Taking place from 20 November to 6 December, this year’s event will feature more than 60 large-scale light artworks by Saudi and international artists, presented across historic sites, urban landmarks, and the city’s growing metro network.
The 2025 curatorial theme, In the Blink of an Eye, draws on the capital’s rapid evolution, bridging heritage with progress, and tradition with transformation. The festival invites audiences to reflect on the pace of change through immersive, light-based experiences woven into Riyadh’s cultural and physical landscape.
This edition will be curated by Mami Kataoka, Director of the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo and current President of CIMAM; Sara Almutlaq, Riyadh-based curator and visual artist; and Li Zhenhua, a curator and producer recognized for his work across contemporary art, film, and digital media.
“This year’s theme explores the dynamic energy of Riyadh and the ways art can illuminate a city in motion. Noor Riyadh continues to provide a platform for both emerging and established artists to connect with communities and reimagine public space through light,” shares Nouf Almoneef, Noor Riyadh Festival Director.
As a flagship initiative of Riyadh Art, one of the city’s four mega projects under Vision 2030, Noor Riyadh plays a key role in transforming the capital into a hub for creative expression and cultural exchange. Since its launch in 2021, the festival has attracted over 9 million visitors and spectators, contributing to Riyadh’s growing presence on the global cultural map.
