Curated by Irini Papadimitriou, the Sea Art Festival 2023 is themed Flickering Shores, Sea Imaginaries and explores the sea as a vital yet exploited resource, proposing an urgent rethinking and reevaluation of our relationship with it.

In addition to the exhibition, the Sea Art Festival features a manifesto project, an academic symposium and public programmes. Developed by artists in collaboration with oceanographers, scientists and environmentalists, the manifesto will offer a framework for restoring sustainable relationships between marine and human life. The final product will be showcased as part of the exhibition. Entitled ‘Ocean Voices’, the Sea Art Festival 2023 Symposium will delve further into the exhibition theme through presentations and discussions. In the public programs, participating artists Laboratory C, Julia Lohmann & Kayoung Kim, and Studio 1750 will lead experiential programmes and workshops targeted at public.

The Sea Art Festival 2023 will take place on Ilgwang Beach and across three indoor venues.
