Reem Shadid, Brian Kuan Wood and Freya Chou have been selected to curate the forthcoming 13th Taipei Biennial, set to kick off in November. Also recently appointed as co-curator of this year’s Henie Onstad Kunstsenter Triennial, Shadid has previously worked as deputy director of Sharjah Art Foundation and director of the 12th Berlin Biennale Curators Workshop. Kuan Wood is an editor of the e-flux book series and monthly journal, which he co-founded in 2008; while Chou is a member of the 58th Carnegie International’s Cultural Council, and guest-curated the Hong Kong pavilion at the 2022 Venice Biennale. As part of their curatorship, the trio aims to explore new ways of facilitating dialogue between Taiwan and the rest of the world.
