The Toronto Biennial of Art (TBA) has announced the final artist lineup, title and venues for the upcoming third edition.
Entitled Precarious Joys, the biennial will explore contemporary times through artists’ explorations of colonialism’s impact, representation, regeneration, and how emotions can drive social change.
The exhibition will take place in a central exhibition and programs hub at 32 Lisgar Street with two additional hubs on the 9th floor of 158 Sterling Road and at Collision Gallery and many other venues across the city.
The curatorial team of Dominique Fontaine and Miguel A. López has selected 36 artists, including one collective. The biennial includes commissions by Cecilia Vicuña, Citra Sasmita, Rajni Perera and Manuel Mathieu, and work from artists such as Hangama Amiri, Leila Zelli, Morehshin Allahyari and others.
