The Biennale will take place at various locations across Sydney, including Art Gallery of New South Wales, Artspace, Museum of Contemporary Art Australia, the Chau Chak Wing Museum, the University of Sydney, UNSW Galleries and the White Bay Power Station.
The exhibition is complemented by a public programme featuring music, dance and artistic performances, talks, art tours, student workshops and family days.
With artistic direction by Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero, the 24th Biennale of Sydney offers celebration as a means of resistance in the face of injustice, exploring a range of themes drawn from multiple histories and perspectives, including First Nations technologies and knowledge systems, the history of Islam in Australia, international articulations of Carnivale and the climate emergency.
