ATHR Foundation yesterday held its inaugural gala dinner in support of the arts at the Cultural Palace in Riyadh.
Attended by art patrons, philanthropists and cultural enthusiasts, the event raised funds for ATHR’s 2024 programmes that aim to build a nurturing environment for Saudi Arabia’s artistic community.
The initiatives include the MAAN Grant, which supports artists by selling limited edition works and reinvesting a percentage of the proceeds into new artistic production and research; the Bait Shouaib Residency, which provides 16 artists a year with access to studio spaces and expert guidance; and the Young Saudi Artists (YSA) show, which gives emerging artists hailing from or based in the Kingdom the opportunity to exhibit their work in a professional context.
In addition to ticket sales, funds were raised through the sales of the second edition of the MAAN Grant works by artists including Zahrah Alghamdi, Mohammed Alfaraj, Alaa Tarabzouni, Moath Aloafi, Fahad bin Naif, Sarah Abu Abdullah and Ahaad Alamoudi.
