Diana Campbell Betancourt | ‘Fabric(ated) Fractures
The exhibition ‘Fabric(ated) Fractures’ brought together 15 artists from South Asia and Southeast Asia to question the idea of geographical borders and spaces. We spoke to the show’s curator and chief curator of Dhaka Art Summit Diana Campbell Betancourt about art’s ability to challenge established narratives in the region and beyond. Plus, artist and photographer Pablo Bartholomew tells us more about his cross-border project that focuses on an indigenous community spread across India, Bangladesh and Myanmar. We also hear from Nadia Samdani, director of Dhaka Art Summit and co-founder of the Samdani Art Foundation, which collaborated with Alserkal Avenue to bring this show to Dubai. ‘Fabric(ated) Fractures’ was on view at Concrete, Alserkal Avenue until 30 March.
