Formally trained as a fashion designer, Filwa Nazer (@fillimore) elaborates on her work at 21,39 Jeddah Arts entitled “In The Fold”. Here, the artist takes cues from French sociologist Roger Caillois in his study on the state of legendary psychasthenia. In a moth-like textile installation of fabrics varying in transparency and hanging from the wall, visitors slip in and it renders them partially visible but completely blind to the outside, mimicking survival mechanisms in nature.
