FROM THE CURRENT ISSUE
THE MAGHREB ISSUE
Our cover features Libyan-American artist Tasneem Sarkez’s High Tea (2024), which constructs an image reminiscent of AI-generated pictures that circulate the Arab world. The gilded teacup and its opulent setting encapsulate the rich visuals of the Maghreb, in an irreverent yet oh-so-poignant calling to mind of the region’s depth of history and multi-layered cultures that defy boundaries.
