FROM THE CURRENT ISSUE
THE TRACES LEFT
Our cover features Mohammad Alfaraj’s Glimpses of Now (2015–), part of a video project in which the Saudi artist compiles footage taken over several years of filming on phone and camera across the country. The fleeting nature of the image, reinforced by the almost out-of-focus element captured in the movement of the boy wading through water, speaks to this issue, The Traces Left, which maps the always-shifting yet enduring relationship between humans and their natural habitat, examining the marks that each leaves on the other.
